SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the refrigeration equipment. Method of suction pressure control in steam compression system (1) containing compressor unit (2), heat-removing heat exchanger (4) and one or several cooling objects (5) arranged in the channel for refrigerant. Each cooling object (5) contains throttling device (6) and evaporator (7) arranged in thermal contact with the cooled volume. For each cooling object (5) obtaining necessary suction pressure change to maintain target temperature in cooled volume. Detecting cooling object (5) under the highest load among several cooling objects (5), proceeding from required suction pressure changes. Cooling object (5) under the highest load is cooling object (5), which requires the lowest suction pressure in order to maintain the target temperature in the cooled volume. Suction pressure of steam compression system (1) is controlled in accordance with required suction pressure change for detected cooling object (5) under the highest load.

EFFECT: technical result is providing efficient heat transfer in evaporator without excessive power consumption.
