FIELD: physics; nanotechnology; electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to modification of electrode material surface for production of supercapacitor electrodes. According to the invention, the method of modifying the electrode material of a supercapacitor involves: synthesis of carbon nanotubes by chemical gas-phase deposition, wherein into gas-phase reactor catalyst is introduced, consisting of suspension based on mixture of nickel oxalates and magnesium, previously deposited on quartz substrate, then carbon nanotubes synthesized in the form of powder are dispersed in ethyl alcohol using ultrasound and deposited on a metal substrate during evaporation of alcohol at temperature of 40÷50 °C, after that, irradiation with argon ions is carried out at energies ε=5÷15 keV and flux density ϕ=4⋅1016÷8⋅1016 ion/cm2 and subsequent mechanical separation from substrate surface with formation of electrode material of supercapacitor in form of powder.
EFFECT: technical result is improved electrochemical characteristics of electrode material based on MWCN (multi-wall carbon nanotubes).
