FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to agriculture, in particular to horticulture and truck farming, and is used for sowing seeds, for example potatoes. Potato planter includes a handle with a handle and a working member. Working element consists of support and working surfaces. Working surface is made in form of cone-shaped tip and pin attached to it to indicate distance between holes. Cone-shaped working surface is made of two symmetrical halves, interconnected hingedly with possibility of divergence of halves tops in one plane. In each half of the cone-shaped working surface outside the base plane there are stiffeners in the form of semi-ring segments, on the edges of which there are hinges. Barrel is fixed along one cone-shaped half, and pin is fixed on other half in plane of cone base and perpendicular to axes of hinges. Method of use manual potato planers includes: providing a rigid support and working surfaces, wherein potatoes tubers are dropped to preset depth by inserting tapered working surface to stiffness ribs, simultaneous retention of one half in such position and pushing aside top of other half of cone till tuber is left.

EFFECT: at such performance simplification of potatoes planting process and reduction of labor costs.
