SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a piston ring comprising a closed base ring (5) and sealing ring (3). Base ring (5) has front surface (5a) oriented in radial outer direction, and sealing ring (3) has front surface (3e), oriented in radial outer direction, and circular inner surface (3f) oriented in radial inner direction. Seal ring (3) has three tangential cuts (3d), which extend tangentially relative to inner surface (3f) of sealing ring, so that sealing ring (3) has three segments (3a, 3b, 3c) arranged serially in circumferential direction (U) and separated by tangential cut (3d). Closed base ring (5) and sealing ring (3) are arranged in series in longitudinal direction (L) perpendicular to circumferential direction (U). Piston ring also comprises top ring (2) located abutting on sealing ring (3) in longitudinal direction (L), wherein upper ring (2) has outer surface (2c), oriented in radial outer direction, and inner surface (2d) oriented in radial inner direction, wherein on side facing away from sealing ring (3), upper ring (2) has at least one radial channel (2a) for backflow extending radially along entire width of upper ring (2), wherein sealing front surface (3e) protrudes in radial direction outside outer surface (2c) of upper ring and front surface (5a) of base ring, wherein base ring (5) and upper ring (2) have a higher tensile strength than sealing ring (3).
EFFECT: proposed piston ring for piston compressor and piston compressor.
