FIELD: mechanical engineering; piston compressors conforming with high standards as to cleanness of compressed gas and service lift. SUBSTANCE: compressor has cylinder with compression chamber press-fitted in housing and provided with suction and discharge valves, piston installed in cylinder with radial clearance and connected with drive mechanism. Cylinder housing is made of material with temperature linear expansion coefficient exceeding that of cylinder material. Housing is made in form of truncated cone with base directed towards drive mechanism and angle of tilting of generatrix to cone axis. Special ratio for calculating angle of tilting is given in description of invention. Invention provides uniform thermal deformation over cylinder generatrix despite of considerable temperature differential in process of compressor operation which makes it possible to operate at minimum clearances and to increase compressor efficiency.
