FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway track superstructure, in particular, to railway car decelerators. Shock absorber comprises cylinder-piston unit with rod and extending unit. Piston divides inner space of cylinder into two working chambers. In the piston there are several channels connecting working chambers, each of which is locked with a separate ball element. Ball-type shutoff elements have a common support plate above the piston. To close the channels, the plate is loaded with a tension valve spring. There is always a preset minimum distance between the plate and the piston, which is formed by resting the plate on the ball locking elements.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of car decelerator at low speeds of cars.
