FIELD: rail transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to slow down cars and uncouple them at marshalling yards. The remotely controlled point car retarder contains a housing with a sliding hydraulic cylinder, configured for axial and rotational movement in the housing. The sliding hydraulic cylinder has the ability to move to the specified positions of less than full stroke using a remotely controlled drive. The output link of the remotely controlled drive is in contact with a stop connected through a bearing to a sliding hydraulic cylinder. The stop is configured to come out of contact with the output link of the remotely controlled drive when the sliding hydraulic cylinder is pushed into the housing under the action of the car wheel.
EFFECT: safety of shunting operations increases while simultaneously increasing the processing capacity of the hump.
