FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of bimetallic palladium-containing catalysts which can be used for liquid-phase selective hydrogenation of unsaturated hydrocarbons, particularly acetylene to ethylene. Catalyst contains, wt%: palladium 0.5, zinc 0.08-0.15, mesoporous carbon material Sibunit - the rest. Deposited metals are a bimetallic compound PdZn with average particle diameter of 4-6 nm, with molar ratio Pd:Zn from 1:0.25 to 1:0.5. Pre-treated carrier is impregnated with an aqueous solution of palladium and zinc nitrates. Then the sample is dried in a water bath until air-dry state with continuous stirring and then at 120°C for 2 hours. Applied metals are fixed on carrier by high-temperature treatment of catalyst in hydrogen current at 500°C for 5 hours until complete reduction of metal components.
EFFECT: obtaining an improved and safe catalyst for liquid-phase hydrogenation of acetylene using the disclosed method of preparation, the catalyst enables to obtain ethylene with high selectivity.
