METHOD FOR PERCENTAGE QUANTITATIVE DETERMINATION OF INTENSITY OF PAIN SYNDROME IN LUMBAR OSTEOCHONDROSIS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2738666 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and can be used in neurosurgery, neurology, vertebrology in diagnosing lumbar osteohondrosis to determine intensity of pain syndrome. That is ensured by weighting to fix patient's total weight. Then two scales are installed nearby, and patient simultaneously stands on them with different lower extremities, after which on each scales received weight is fixed. That is followed by determining the weight load on each lower extremity if the pain syndrome is absent at the moment, for which the patient's total weight is divided by two. Then the obtained result is taken as 100% of the put load on each extremity in the absence of pain syndrome. Detected weight on scales with involved extremity and weight taken as 100% of load on each lower extremity, in absence of pain syndrome are compared, after which quantitative expression of missing percentage significance of weight load on affected lower limb is determined. For this by subtracting the quantitative percentage of the available load on the affected lower extremity from 100% load on each lower extremity with no pain syndrome, obtained percentage result is a quantitative percentage expression of intensity of pain syndrome present.

EFFECT: method enables to follow the dynamics of the disease, to select and predict the most adequate type or complex of rehabilitation measures and to improve the treatment results and reduce the disability of the patients.
