FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to systems for providing a block peripheral nerve to a patient. System comprises a needle, a fluid pump, a controller, a sensor for determining the fluid pressure in the needle and a conductive element for electrical stimulation of the nerve at the end of the needle. Fluid medium pump provides flow of fluid medium to the needle. Controller is configured to control the fluid medium pump to control the fluid flow to the needle. Controller is configured to supply variable electrical stimulation in response to detection by the sensor of the fluid pressure value exceeding the first threshold. Controller is configured to supply constant stimulation with initial current if detected value of fluid medium pressure is below first threshold.
EFFECT: higher safety, comfort and accuracy of needle placement during peripheral nerve block.
