FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for providing multiple injections from a fluid reservoir. Proposed device comprises fluid controller to control fluid flow from fluid reservoir to needle. Actuator selectively actuates a fluid medium controller for feeding a dose of the drug from the fluid reservoir. Besides, the fluid medium controller is configured to calculate the fluid volume in the fluid medium reservoir required to provide a dose, containing the required number of units of the drug for injection. Besides, the device may contain a detector configured to define a characteristic indicative of fluid pressure in the needle. Method of using system includes selecting number of units supplied during injection, automatic calculation of the injection volume required to feed the selected number of units based on the calculated unit volume and tracking the total number of units administered during the series of injections.
EFFECT: drug delivery device is disclosed.
