FIELD: municipal engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of municipal services, in particular to the garbage containers remote monitoring, and can be used for planning and organizing operation of garbage containers, including remote determination of their parameters and location thereof. Method of monitoring the state of garbage container 1 consists in determining at least one condition parameter of container 1 by means of container 1 state control device installed on container 1. Using device 4 in accordance with tactics, signal is sent to transceiver 5, wherein signal from device 4 includes identification data of said device 4 and information on determined state parameter of container 1. Such signal is sent to transceiver 5 via short-range radio channel 8. Using transceiver 5 receiving signal from device 4 and sending it in accordance with tactics via radio channel 9 of long range by means of communication network 6 in user software 7, by means of which the condition of container 1 is monitored by a defined at least one parameter and its location in the area of propagation of radio channel 8 with a short range of action is determined. If there is no signal, container 1 is moved beyond radio channel 8 of short-range.

EFFECT: use of invention will make it possible to expand functional capabilities with simultaneous increase of accuracy and reliability of monitoring condition of garbage containers, provide possibility of long-term operation, increase informativity and reliability of information on measured parameters of garbage containers, enable simultaneous continuous monitoring of parameters of several garbage containers, possibility of using sensors using any principles of measurement, increase frequency of polling of sensors on state of garbage containers, as well as increase volume and frequency of data transmission.
