FIELD: disposal of solid waste.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of utilities, particularly to automation of accounting of the volumes of collected or disposed garbage and to remote monitoring of the filling level of waste containers (tanks), and can be used to automate the process of accounting and calculating the volume of collected garbage, planning and organising garbage disposal and controlling timely evacuation of waste containers. The method consists in installing a waste level monitoring apparatus on the container wall at the upper edge thereof, measuring the filling level of the container and transmitting the information about the filling level of the container to the user software. The monitoring apparatus includes an emission redirection apparatus and a body wherein a control processor and a radio transmitting apparatus, a distance meter and a power element connected therero are located. The body is installed on the outside of the container wall, and the redirection apparatus is installed on the inside of the container wall opposite to the distance meter.

EFFECT: technical result is ensured possibility of monitoring the filling level of a waste container and the volume of waste in the container, as well as increased accuracy and reliability of monitoring the filling level of waste containers and cleaning the containers.
