FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric power industry, in particular to devices for transverse capacitive compensation in traction AC system of 25 kV and 2×25 kV. To prevent high voltage surges, phase adjustment of bipolar thyristor connected in parallel to switchable section is generated, and when the switched section is shunted with a bipolar thyristor, the voltage in the traction network is increased step-by-step, for example 400-500 V to the required value.
EFFECT: increased reliability of power supply of traction network switched by FCD by prevention of increased values of voltage surges.
