FIELD: power supply system.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power supply systems of AC electric railways, in particular to devices for transverse capacitive compensation of reactive power of traction load and filtration of higher harmonics of current and voltage in traction network, i.e. to filter compensating units (FCU). In series with disconnected switch there is additional resistor shunted with additional controlled switch, which is bipolar thyristor switch.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of two-stage FCU due to reduction of voltage surges on sections of capacitor at disconnection of closed section, id est when switching from higher power to lower power.
