FIELD: computer equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the use of volatile memory to provide non-volatile storage for applications running on a computing device. Information indicating the amount of energy in the battery which is available for use by the computing device is received, determining the amount of energy required to perform a memory transfer operation is determined based at least in part on the amount of energy, which is required for memory carry operation, maximum number of pages from multiple pages, content of which can be transferred into nonvolatile storage device, using amount of energy available for use by computer in case of power supply interruption, and configuring an operating system for processing one or more pages from multiple pages of volatile memory as nonvolatile memory.
EFFECT: technical result consists in processing one or more pages from multiple pages of volatile memory as nonvolatile memory.
