SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to memory devices. System comprises a hardware memory module including a plurality of memory regions, wherein separate memory regions include a plurality of segments; a failure detection module that detects a failed segment in one of the plurality of memory regions; a clustering module that logically clusters the failed segment by remapping the failed segment to a working segment located on the edge of said memory region, wherein the working segment is selected to maximize a contiguous memory space within a given memory region.
EFFECT: technical result is high reliability of data storage in memory devices.
