FIELD: information technologies.
SUBSTANCE: external memory devices are used to cash sectors of memory device with rotary motion (for instance, hard disk drive), to improve efficiency of the system. When external memory device (EMD) is connected to computer or to network, where this computer is connected, system recognises this EMD and fills EMD with disk sectors. System sends I/O reading requests sent to disk sector, to EMD cash instead of actual disk sector. Using EMD devices increases efficiency and productivity in systems of computer for the cost equal to part of cost of adding memory to computer device.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of computer.
