FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry, and specifically to development of thermoplastic, gas-forming casting processed by casting, which can be used to actuate various mechanisms using energy of compressed gases, as well as model rocket fuel. Solid-fuel gas-generating composition contains ammonium nitrate as the main oxidising agent, as an additional oxidising agent - magnesium nitrate, as combustion catalysts - zinc and copper ammoniate nitrates, as the main combustible component - organic amine preferably with two or more amino groups, for example, hexamethylenetetramine, polyethylene polyamines, triethylene tetramine, with the following ratio of components, wt%: magnesium nitrate 10-22; ammoniate nitrate of zinc 1.5-30; ammonia copper nitrate 1.5-3.0; organic amine 10-18; ammonium nitrate is the rest.

EFFECT: possibility of complete realization of energy potential of ammonium nitrate as an environmentally friendly oxidiser of gas-generating compositions and model rocket fuel without use of expensive, scarce or toxic compounds in composition, high density of composition and rate of burning of gas-generating compositions based on ammonium nitrate.
