FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to formulation of gas generating compositions, which can be used in gas generators for generating excess pressure in dry powder fire extinguishing systems. The gas generating composition contains potassium nitrate, ammonium nitrate, novolak phenol formaldehyde resin, basic magnesium carbonate with the following ratio of components, wt %: ammonium nitrate 50.0 to 55.0; potassium nitrate 10.0 to 20.0; novolak phenol formaldehyde resin 20.0 to 30.0; basic magnesium carbonate 5.0 to 10.0.
EFFECT: improved operational characteristics due to achieving balance of specific gas capacity and temperature of formed gases with increase in manufacturability at the same time.
