FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to modifiers and catalysts for curing aminoformaldehyde resins which can be used in wood processing, particularly as a component of a composition of wood-based panels: chipboard, MDF, HDF, fibreboard, OSB. Aminoformaldehyde resin curing modifier is described. Curing agent is a mixture of non-permanent substances (adducts) obtained by chemical reaction of citric acid, ammonia and carbamide in molar ratio of components of 1:1.5:1.5. Invention also describes use of a modifier-hardener of amino-formaldehyde resins as a component for making wood boards made using amino-formaldehyde resins in amount of 2–8 % of the abs. dry resins.
EFFECT: higher efficiency limit of modifier-curing agent, which increases strength of wood boards when stretched perpendicular to board plate, as well as reduced content of formaldehyde in finished wood boards.
