FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalysis. Described is a method of producing a catalyst for dehydrogenating paraffin hydrocarbons by impregnating a product of thermo-chemical activation of hydrargillite using solutions of chromium compounds and an alkali metal followed by drying with electromagnetic radiation and calcination of catalyst, wherein before impregnation step, impregnating solution is preliminarily irradiated with electromagnetic radiation at operating frequency of 2.45 GHz and power of 180-250 W for 1-3 minutes.
EFFECT: high activity and selectivity of the catalyst.
