SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is intended for treating and/or preventing the symptoms of Lennox—Gastaut syndrome. Composition is used for treating, preventing or relieving attacks of Lennox—Gastaut syndrome in a patient with confirmed Lennox—Gastaut syndrome, where diagnosis is based on specific results of electroencephalogram (EEG). Said composition contains an oral dose of fenfluramine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in amount of 0.4 mg/kg/day to 0.8 mg/kg/day to maximum of 30 mg/day. Above composition is also used in a patient diagnosed with Lennox—Gastaut syndrome, where the diagnosis is based on specific electroencephalogram (EEG) results performed during sleep. Said composition is administered together with a therapeutic agent selected from a group consisting of an effective amount of a drug, selected from a group consisting of stiripentol, clobazam and valproate and combinations thereof.

EFFECT: using the group of inventions enables providing more effective treatment, prevention or alleviation of seizures in a patient with diagnosed Lennox—Gastaut syndrome.
