FIELD: vessels and other watercrafts.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding and ship repair and can be used in monitoring the technical condition of ship hulls. Disclosed is a method of controlling the state of outer skin of a ship hull, using a potentiometer mounted on non-conductive strings mounted on walls of beams of main direction (ribs) parallel to outer skin. Movable contacts of potentiometers are connected by means of posts with plates of external lining in the middle of span. Contacts of potentiometers are connected to control unit. Actual deflection of the plate is determined from variation of resistance of potentiometers, and standard deflection of the plate in each number is calculated taking into account deflection of plates in adjacent spacings and a given standard probability of destruction.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency and safety of ship operation.
