FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to operation of gas turbine engines and is used to estimate their residual life. Method of engine operation by its technical state includes determination of actual operating time of engine, its comparison with permissible values and determination of residual resource of engine. In operation of the gas turbine engine, the engine operating range is determined from the gas temperature downstream the turbine and divided into at least two subranges based on the gas temperature behind the turbine at the nominal power value, in each of which at boundary values of gas temperature and corresponding to these values of heat and gas-dynamic loads on part with given resource value based on characteristics of material of part, determining static strength factors Kmi with allowance for material creep limit, selecting the most loaded part with minimum value Kmi, for each sub-range determining average value of coefficient Kmi avg, in the first subrange from the gas temperature after the turbine at the nominal power value; mean value of safety factors is taken as basic value Kmi av. bas., then, for each sub-range, the relationship bi = Kmi avg bas./Kmi avg is determined, and time interval Te, during which the operating state of the engine is maintained, is determined by formula: Te=Σbii, where τi is actual operating time of the engine during operation in each sub-range; bi is conversion factor of actual operating time to more loaded modes.

EFFECT: disclosed method allows increasing service life and duration of engine life cycle by taking into account actual load on its part during operation.
