CABLE SECTION OF TOWED FIBRE-OPTIC HYDROACOUSTIC STREAMER Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC G01H9/00

Abstract RU 2741772 C1

FIELD: acoustics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydroacoustics, particularly to acoustic scopes based on optical effects. Cable section of the towed fibre-optic hydroacoustic brace contains a core with an array of fibre-optic hydrophones placed in the outer shell, the core includes a power element, a communication module containing optical fibre. Fibre-optic hydrophone comprises optical circuit with optical fibre, a structure which increases its hydroacoustic sensitivity and is two polymer layers of elastic material applied along the entire length of the core. Core comprises at least two temporary modules and shaped core, on surface of which there are four or more slots, each of which is arranged along trajectory of three-dimensional spiral with constant pitch of turns, slots are designed to accommodate two or more connected modules, two and more time modules in them throughout the whole length. Slots with identical filling in cross section are located at the same angular distance from each other, and the optical circuits of the fibre-optic hydrophones from the array are placed locally in slots in the vacant spaces instead of preliminarily locally remote parts of the temporary module at the locations of the fibre-optic hydrophones, voids between fibre-optic components are filled with gel-like aggregate.

EFFECT: technical result is reduction of towing noise and hydrodynamic resistance during device operation.
