FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment and namely to an ultraviolet bactericidal air irradiator-recirculator. The invention has a body which contains an irradiation chamber. Its inner surface is covered with material that reflects ultraviolet radiation. The body of the invention also has a fan, a filter, an inlet window and an outlet window, absorbing airway labyrinth screens located near the inlet window and the outlet window. The invention’s body also has a source of ultraviolet bactericidal ozone-free radiation and a removable electrostatic dust collector. The inner surface of its body and the screens are covered with material that reflects ultraviolet radiation. An emission electrode is located inside the invention’s body in front of the output airway absorption screen on the inner surface of the body. The emission electrode is connected to ground or to the outside through a voltage source. The emission electrode and the absorbing airway labyrinth screens are made of material or coated with material chemically inert to atmospheric air substances. The electronic work function of the emission electrode material is less than 4.9 eV. The electronic work function of the labyrinth walls is less than or equal to 3.1 eV.

EFFECT: invention improves efficiency of disinfection and quality of the treated air by enriching the air with negative air ions of oxygen in the air. It also neutralizes harmful positively charged air ions.
