FIELD: air purification and disinfection devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to air purification and disinfection devices and can be used for air purification in various rooms, as well as in chemical and other industries. The air purification and disinfection device comprises a housing, a fan, at least one source of ultraviolet radiation and a photocatalytic filter, which contains several grids with cells, the surface of which is coated with anatase modification titanium dioxide. The size and shape of the cells from grid to grid change as they move away from the inner grid to the outer grid, and the grids are arranged so that the filter cells form a simple geometric fractal shape on the side of the radiation source. An ozone-free source of ultraviolet radiation located inside the photocatalytic filter was used as a source of ultraviolet light. A method for air purification using this device is also proposed.

EFFECT: device has a simple design that provides air purification from dust without the use of dust pre-filters, and increased efficiency due to the elimination of shadow zones in the working surface of the filter, which makes it possible to increase the active zone of photocatalysis.
