FIELD: monitoring and measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: system (10) and method for prediction of forthcoming damage to vessel (12) under pressure include pressure vessel (12), fluid source (16), main line (14), connected to vessel (12) under pressure and source (16) of fluid medium, device (18), sensor (24) and controller (26). Device (18) includes pipe (36) and containing structure (40). Accommodating structure (40) includes cavity (38) separated from the internal area of pipe (36) by the section of wall (44) of pipe (36). Sensor (24) is configured to determine the value of physical property in cavity (38). Controller (26) is in signal communication with sensor (24) and is configured to detect change of value. Method includes steps of determining a first physical property value in cavity (38), realizing damage to pipe wall (44), determining the second physical property value in cavity (38) and determining the difference between the first and second values.

EFFECT: technical result is improved safety.
