FIELD: acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to acoustics, particularly to pneumatic radiators of audio signals. Gas flow modulator comprises a valve unit consisting of two coaxially located hollow cylinders with the same system of slots. One cylinder is movable while another cylinder is movable. Device comprises an electromagnetic vibration drive connected to the excitation unit and consisting of one or more electromagnetic propellers. On certain circular sections of the surface of the movable cylinder there are excitation windings entering the annular gaps of magnetic conductors of electromagnetic propellers. Perforation of said circular sections of metal movable cylinder of the valve assembly allows reducing inductive electromagnetic forces of resistance occurring at their movement in the magnetic conductors clearances.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of excitation currents, reduced heat emission in electromagnetic propellers, reduced weight of movable cylinder, and as a result expansion of frequency range of modulator.
