FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a mutant or transgenic tobacco plant with reduced levels of asparagine and reduced levels of acrylamide in aerosol obtained after heating or burning a tobacco plant, as well as derived from it plant material and product suitable for consumption. Also disclosed is a method of producing plant material with reduced levels of asparagine and reduced levels of acrylamide in aerosol, obtained from said plant material. Invention also relates to a tobacco smoking product containing said plant material and an aerosol generating device.
EFFECT: invention allows efficiently obtaining vegetable tobacco material with reduced levels of asparagine and reduced levels of acrylamide in aerosol produced from said plant material.
