FIELD: heat power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of thermal power engineering and can be used to cool the condenser of a heat pump, motors, generators and capacitors in power plants, as well as to obtain distilled water for drinking or for technological use. In a low pressure cooling tower for distillation of water, consisting of a sealed vessel, a droplet separator, a main heat exchanger, a water sprinkler and pipelines for supplying and removing heated and chilled water, a float valve, a salt concentration sensor, a valve for water discharge and a circulation pump for transferring water from the bottom part of the vessel, a vacuum pump is added to the water sprinkler in the upper part of the vessel, according to the invention, which causes the boiling and evaporation of water at low pressure and temperature, and the resulting steam is fed to a secondary heat exchanger for complete condensation.
EFFECT: increased performance of the cooling tower at low pressure with minimal losses of thermal energy with ability to regulate and maintain the required volume of water in the cooling tower and the technical water supply system, as well as ability to regulate condensate.
