SUBSTANCE: self-orienting selective lockable unit is claimed, as well as a method for regulating the depth and position of the ground formation. After installing the orienting casing and the unified casing column of the latch connection, the self-orienting selective lockable latch downhole tool is lowered deep into the well to the target depth and is removed so as to release the internal locking mechanism. Then it is loaded with a downhole load for engagement with a locking mechanism.

EFFECT: use of a downhole system when using a stationary underground platform, a downhole tool designed to be oriented and fixed in the wellbore without external application of torque, and a downhole system containing a downhole tool.
