FIELD: fiber optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the design of fiber-optic gyroscopes (FOG). A ring interferometer of a fiber-optic gyroscope, the optical scheme of which makes it possible to reduce the loss of optical radiation in it due to a circulator, which acts as both an optical isolator of an erbium-doped fiber radiation source and an optical beam splitter. When the ring interferometer rotates, a phase difference occurs, which is expressed as follows: where R is the radius of the sensitive coil of the ring interferometer; L is the length of the coil light guide; λ is the weighted average light radiance wavelength (LRW); s is the speed of light in vacuum; Ω is the angular velocity of gyroscope rotation, and on the photodetector the optical radiation power can be represented as: where Р0 is the power of the rays interfering on the photodetector.
EFFECT: reduced energy consumption of FOG.
