SUBSTANCE: invention relates to search engines. Technical result is achieved by obtaining indication of at least part of search request from electronic device, generating based on said indication a ranked set of prompts for expanding a search request, analyzing a first hint from a ranked set of hints on search query expansion in order to determine the compliance of said first prompt from the ranked set of prompts to extend the search request to a predetermined trigger condition and if the result set results in a positive result, corresponding to intermediate search request, containing at least part of search request and first prompt from ranged set of prompts to expand search query, sending to an electronic device a ranged set of prompts for expanding a search query and a search results page containing a set of search results.
EFFECT: technical result is wider range of means.
