FIELD: wastewater treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of wastewater treatment and can be used for biological treatment of urban, industrial, domestic wastewater, neutralization of toxic sludge containing organic pollution. Biological wastewater treatment from organic compounds is carried out using activated sludge under the oxidative effect of reactive oxygen species (ROS), including illumination of the biooxidation zone of wastewater with activated sludge with visible light simultaneously with the introduction of an oxidative agent ROS containing hydrogen peroxide for sludge adaptation. For illumination, natural or artificial visible light with a wavelength in the range of 400-600 nm and irradiation intensity in the range of 0.2-200 mW / L is used. The agent of the oxidative effect of ROS is introduced with a daily increase in the dose until the optimal value is reached, characterized by the absence of inhibition of the biochemical oxidation process, after which wastewater is purified with adapted activated sludge with the provision of the oxidative effect of ROS in optimal doses with an interval of 1-30 days while maintaining the illumination conditions of the biooxidation zone. The daily dose of the agent containing hydrogen peroxide during the adaptation of activated sludge is from 0.1 to 10 mg / l in terms of hydrogen peroxide when the agent of oxidative effect is first introduced into the biooxidation zone, and subsequently ranges from 0.5 to 100 mg / l per day.
EFFECT: method allows reducing the content of residual pollution in terms of COD in 1.2-3 times without a decrease in the rate of biological oxidation and oxidizing capacity of structures.
