FIELD: waste water treatment. SUBSTANCE: biochemical treatment of waste waters rich in toxic organics, in particular phenols and their derivatives, is accomplished by periodical-mode oxidation of phenols with activated sludge, while additional portions of high-concentrated waste water, each containing no more than 5 g/l phenols, and hydrogen peroxide (20 g/l) portions are additionally introduced directly into biooxidation milieu during all the process time without outflow of liquid milieu, which leads to current concentrations of phenols in waste water under treatment equal to 5.0 g/l. Microorganisms in activated sludge are preliminarily adapted to concentrations of phenols no higher than 2.0 g/l and of hydrogen peroxide no higher than 3.0 g/l without loss in biooxidation intensity. EFFECT: essentially increased oxidation rate and decreased volume of waste disposal plants and outlet effluents by at least tenfold. 1 tbl, 2 ex
