FIELD: radio communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio communication. The technical result for the proposed technique is achieved by a provided possibility of implementing a setting of integrity protection of the user plane (IPUP) for the communication network, said setting supported through UE upon request for registration in the communications network. The IPUP setting is comprised of one of the following: use of integrity protection for the user plane data transmitted between UE, non-use of integrity protection for the user plane data transmitted between UE, or use of integrity protection for the user plane data and non-use of confidentiality protection for the user plane data.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is integrity protection on the user plane (UP) for the data transmitted between user equipment (UE) and the base station.
