FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering and namely to bicycle tandems. The bike tandem consists of a frame on which a front fork is fixed, two wheels, a steering wheel, two saddles with attachment points for height, front and rear gear shifting and braking mechanisms, a chain drive with driving and driven gears, a carriage assembly with a shaft, left and right cranks with front pedals, two joint assemblies, two rods, rear pedals, two mechanisms for limiting the longitudinal movement of the upper plates. The rear pedals consist of two assemblies: the first is attached to the bar, and the second has a movable top plate and a fixed bottom plate. The bike tandem is equipped with two brackets rigidly attached to the front ends of the rods and pivotally connected to the front pedal axles. The first assemblies of the rear pedals are made in the form of supports having the shape of quadrangles in the longitudinal section. The bottom plates of the second units are rigidly attached to the supports. Limiters are installed at the front ends of the movable upper plates. The rods of the mechanisms for limiting the longitudinal movement of the upper plates of the rear pedals are pivotally attached to the plates and their supports.
