FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: spring contains a continuous element shaped as multiple coils set along the central axis. Each of the multiple coils contains multiple straight sections located between the turns each of them comes from one of the straight sections. The multiple coils form the first body of the spring and the second body of the spring, wherein each of the bodies contains at least three coils and has a first end and a second end, wherein the first end of the second body is connected to the second end of the first body of the spring. When unloaded the first body of the spring has the first individual step size between the turns of each pair of adjacent coils, wherein the first individual step size reduces from the first end of the first body of the spring to the second end of the first body of the spring, and the second body of the spring has the second individual step size between the turns of each pair of adjacent coils, wherein the second individual step size enhances from the first end of the second body of the spring to the second end of the second body of the spring.
EFFECT: enhanced compression level and adjustable stiffness of a magazine spring.
