FIELD: cosmetic industry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the field of the cosmetic industry, in particular to a sunscreen composition comprising an oil-in-water emulsion with stable phases containing a continuous aqueous phase comprising a superhydrophilic-amphiphilic copolymer, which is an ester of hydrolyzed potato starch and sodium dodecenyl succinate, and a suspension particles of styrene and acrylate copolymer; and a discrete oil phase uniformly dispersed in the continuous aqueous phase and comprising a UV absorbing compound, wherein the sunscreen composition contains 0.75% or less by weight of a surfactant and has a Brookfield viscosity, measured at 23C at 200 rpm with a No. 3 spindle, 2000 sP or less, wherein the surfactant is selected from anionic, nonionic, amphoteric and cationic surfactants.
EFFECT: present invention provides a mild sunscreen composition that is phase stable.
