SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cosmetic industry, in particular to a sun-screening composition containing (i) a UV absorbing polyglycerol compound which is a hydrophobically modified polyglycerol reaction product with a UV absorbing chromophore, wherein the hydrophobically modified polyglycerol is a polyglycerol ester and C8-C30 fatty acid, in which average degree of polymerisation of glycerol ranges from 2 to 20, and UV-absorbing chromophore has structure of formula (IV) formula IV, and (ii) a cosmetically acceptable topical carrier containing at least 1 wt. % non-absorbent hydrophobically-modified polyglycerol, which is a polyglycerol ester of C8-C30 fatty acid, wherein average degree of polymerisation of glycerine ranges from 2 to 20.
EFFECT: invention provides higher SPF (sun-factor).
