FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: iron core for a transformer contains a plurality of grain-oriented electrical steel sheets stacked. At least one of the multiple grain-oriented electrical steel sheets has a region in which trailing domains are formed in a direction intersecting the rolling direction and a region in which trailing domains are not formed. The relative area R, ranges from 0.10 to 30%, where the relative area R is the ratio of the area of the region in which the amount of compression at the point of maximum deformation is magnetized in the rolling direction at a maximum magnetic induction of 1.7 T and a frequency of 50 Hz, at least 2x10-7 less than the amount of compression in the region in which the trailing domains are not formed to the total area of the grain-oriented electrical steel sheet.
EFFECT: reduced noise and vibration level of the iron core of the transformer.
