FIELD: dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a composition for the care of the oral cavity and a method for its use. The present composition for the care of the oral cavity contains a carrying agent, which is acceptable for use in the oral cavity carrier, 2-3% by weight of the composition of zinc phosphate, 0.454% by weight of the composition of stannous fluoride, tetrasodium pyrophosphate, trisodium citrate, citric acid and 11-13% by weight of an anionic polymer composition wherein the anionic polymer is methyl vinyl ether/a maleic anhydride or an acid copolymer having an average molecular weight (MW) of 30,000 to 1,000,000 and wherein the amount of water is 10% by weight or more based on the weight of the oral composition. Disclosed is a method for the treatment or prevention of erosive demineralization of teeth, gingivitis, plaque and/or dental caries presupposing the use of the above composition in the oral cavity of an individual in need thereof.
EFFECT: increased anti-erosive and antimicrobial properties of the composition containing stannous ions compared to compositions in accordance with the prior art.
