FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship propellers. The propulsion unit consists of two flapping wings, vertically located inside the box, which is located below the waterline of the vessel. The wings are driven by mechanical drives located in the aft end of the vessel above the propulsion and steering complex, as well as by using linear electric motors located in the side edges of the box. The edges of the box are parallel to the movement of the vessel, curved to the outer sides and have a wing profile, and the edges of the box, located perpendicular to the movement of the vessel, are equipped with holes that occupy the entire area of these edges. The side edges of the wings are made in relation to the adjacent edges of the box with a gap.
EFFECT: increased efficiency.
