FIELD: railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and is intended to determine the coefficient of friction of a load placed on a railway carriage by measuring accelerations during collision tests and during transportation. Disclosed is a method for determining the coefficient of friction based on the analysis of information about the acceleration of the load during collision tests. The basis of the present method is the procedure for identifying the moments of stalling and restoration of sliding based on the readings of the accelerometer which is a sensitive element. The device presented according to this method consists of a sensitive element (acceleration sensor - accelerometer) attached to the controlled load and capable of perceiving linear accelerations and producing an electrical (analog or digital) signal proportional to the acceleration acting on it. The output of the sensor is connected to the signal processing and recording unit the program of which automatically determines the moments of breakdown and restoration of the adhesion of the load with the contacting surfaces and calculates the friction coefficient based on the averaged value of the accelerations of the falling section of the oscillogram.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy and ease of obtaining a reliable estimate of the coefficient of friction of the cargo on the contacting surfaces of the car.
