FIELD: rail transport.
SUBSTANCE: set of inventions relates to rail transport and is intended for measuring the longitudinal forces applied to the couplers of locomotives and wagons of freight trains. The device for measuring the longitudinal forces applied to the couplers of freight trains consists of a linear displacement sensor mounted on a cantilever fixed bracket inside the hollow body of the coupler via an opening in the head of the body of the coupler and a thrust unit. The measuring base of the device comprises the full length of the internal cavity of the nozzle of the coupler. The total linear deformation of the nozzle of the auto-coupling is measured over a significant part of its length.
EFFECT: invention enables increasing safety of freight trains, eliminating cases of exceeding the maximum values of traction and braking forces in a train, reducing the wear and tear of wagons' traction impact devices and increasing the measurement accuracy and the durability of measuring devices.
