SUBSTANCE: hair brush has an array of bristles 4. Each bristle extends from the base to the free end, with two bristle lengths provided. The shorter bristles 4a and the lower portion of the longer bristles 4b are bouffant, while the longer bristles flatten the hair or detangle knots / tangles in the hair to reduce the level of bouffant. The long bristles comprise a relatively wide first section 5 towards the base of the bristle and a relatively narrow second section 6 towards the free end of the bristle. The bristles are arranged so that bristles in one row do not pass between adjacent bristles in an adjacent row and do not partially overlap the space between bristles in an adjacent row.
