SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to lid 1 for a rounded oblong jar with rounded edges or rounded corners, such as jars "Hans", "Large Hans", "Club" or "Dingli". The lid contains near rounded section 8 of the lid, distant rounded section 9 of the lid and intermediate straight section 10 of the lid between the two rounded parts of the lid. It also includes detachable part 6 of the lid, surrounded by closed line 5 of a notch. The lid is designed to be opened by tearing off along the notch line and separating from the remaining part of the lid after grabbing with one’s fingers, tilting and lifting lug 11, connected at the point of its attachment to the detachable part of the lid. The lid also contains stiffening elements for stiffening the detachable part of the lid when opening by tearing off and separating. The line of the notch has a residual thickness of 110±10 mcm in the near rounded lid section, 125±10 mcm in the intermediate lid section, 120±10 mcm in the distant rounded lid sector and 125±10 mcm on the hinge part of the notch line. The invention also applies to a jar containing such a lid.
