SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fire fighting equipment, namely to automatic fire extinguishing systems, and can be used for fire protection of engine compartments of vehicles in the event of an accident. The system contains at least one destructible container (1) with a fire-extinguishing powder composition, located in the extinguishing zone, means for creating pressure in the container and means for destroying the container. A reservoir (3) with a fire-extinguishing gas is used as a means for creating pressure in the container, which is connected to at least one container (1) with a fire-extinguishing powder composition by means of a pipeline (4), ensuring the creation of pressure in the container. Power elements (2) installed in the vehicle with the possibility of destruction of at least one container (1) during deformation of the vehicle body are used as a means of destroying the container.

EFFECT: enhanced security is provided.
